| Production | According to the Register this was part of a service made for the Duchess of Devonshire as a wedding present to Mary Babington, who married the Rev. Thomas Gisburne, of Derby, in 1784. The factory mark, however, is datable to 1770/1772 to 1777. Shown at the Derby Exhibition in 1870. Another cup and saucer from this set is in the British Museum, see Hobson Catalogue p63.
