The popular Tekno (also marketed as "Teksta") Robotic Puppy was manufactured by Manley Toy Quest in May 2000, as a cheaper alternative to other robotic animals available at the time.
It was programmed with a puppy's 'intelligence' and as such it required feeding and walking. It could also do tricks and learn some basic spoken words, as well as many other functions.
