Object history | Registered File number 1993/1501, Streetstyle exhibition 1994-1995, in the exhibition it was part of an outfit called 'Rockabilly UK 1979-84' (includes the bowling shirt T.308-1994 and the shoes T.462-1994). Authentic American casual wear from the 1950s was highly desirable to Rockabillies of both sexes. While the jeans and shirt (T.308-1994) here date from the 1950s, their assembly here is according to an early 80s Rockabilly sensibility, and they were shown in the Streetstyle exhibition as a 1979-84 Rockabilly look. The shoes (T.462:1, 2-1994) are contemporary to this date. |
