Object history
Registered File number 1993/644, Streetstyle exhibition 1994-1995, in the exhibition it was part of an outfit called 'Mod UK mid-1960s' (includes the skirt suit T.257-1993, the shoes T.375-1993 and the flight bag T.542-1994).

"Female Mods were characterised by a non-body conscious, almost andrognyous appearance. Leather and suede were popular, and Mod girls favoured A-line skirts with just below-the-knee hems. Flight bags such as those by BOAC and BEA with their modernistic wing motifs were desirable because of the travel connotations. The look was neat and streamlined."
