The Saxbo pottery was founded at Herlev in Denmark in 1930. This piece was glazed by the pottery’s founder, Nathalie Krebs. Harmony between form and glaze can be seen as a defining feature of Saxbo’s production.

This piece was included in the exhibition 'Scandinavia at Table' held at the V&A in 1951.
