Production
G.C. Polidori, Maiolica Abruzzese, Ap.27, accepts the attribution, but Rackham, 1960 notes says more probably by Liborio Grue, and compares with No1154, also after A. Carracci's Palazzo Farnese frescos. Rackham adds that the style differs from that of the rendering of the same subject signed CAGF, in the Castello Sforzesco, Milan (Polidori, fig.26)
Also see note on No1157, bought London 1923

See Object Information File in dept to compare to Milan Museo delle arti Applicate piece: earlier plaque depicting the same subject, by Carlo Antonio Grue, Castelli, late 17th century.
