Teapot and stand, cup and saucer, ‘Norma’ range Germany, Marwitz, designed about 1930, made 1930–4 Designed by Grete Loebenstein (later Marks) Made by Haël-Werkstätten Earthenware, with coloured glazes Grete Loebenstein trained at the Bauhaus. Together with her husband Gustav, she founded Haël-Werkstätten for the manufacture of ‘artistic ceramics’ in 1923. Committed to progressive artistic design, the firm was a member of the German association of artists, designers and industrialists known as the Deutscher Werkbund. Museum no. C.78&A, B, F, G-1980.
