Drug jar of slightly concave cylindrical form, contracting at neck and base, expanding lip. The name of the drug is inscribed on a cartouche with scrolled border set diagonally across a series of horizontal bands of rayed scallops, resembling lace.

Object history
Formerly in the collection of Oswald Crawfurd, C.M.G., H.B.M., Consul at Oporto. Exhibited at the Museum on loan between 1888 and 1897. Purchased for £6.6s from his sale at Christies (part of lot 226).
