This press photograph, one of a series taken for the Daily Mirror, reflects the profile that dancer Tamara Karsavina had acquired. In April 1920 she had finished the run of J.M. Barrie's play The Truth about the Russian Dancers at the Coliseum on 15 March in which she had starred with Foster and was going to rejoin the Ballets Russes to create the role of Pimpernella in Pulcinella.
