Sculptural group of a 'chinaman' seated on a hillock, holding an exotic bird in his lap, and with another at his feet. Two branches rise up behind him, and these are surmounted by leafy candle sockets. To his right is his quiver, bow and parasol. He leans on a pagoda-like structure, which is surmounted by the inkpot (with separate domed cover). The pattern of his robe is printed in black. The pagoda has sponged finish.
