Object history | A similarly decorated plate illustrated in Painting (see Refs) is described as 'Haban showing Swiss influence'. It is dated 1660. In Krisztinkovich (see Refs) it is described as 'Northern Hungary, early 18th century'. A similarly decorated dish is seen in fig.32. This dish bears a different name and thus suggests that the names on these plates are not of potters' names but of those who commissioned the plates. |
