  • Vase 1860–80 The elegant form of this vase, its delicate low-relief design of a dragon and the carefully painted decoration are typical of the products of the Hirado kilns. These were located in the village of Mikawachi, a few miles from the porcelain-manufacturing centre of Arita. The extremely high quality of Hirado wares was much admired by collectors in the West.
