Perhaps better known for the bright and boldly patterned tablewares he designed in the 1950s, Stig Lindberg also combined clean shapes with decorative glazes as shown by this piece designed in the 1970s. One of Sweden’s most prolific and versatile designers, he was appointed Art Director at the Gustavsberg ceramics factory in 1949.
