Object history | Purchase. Formerly Soulages Collection. The relationship of this type with the lustreware experiments in Madrid and Gijon of the late 18th century (post-1785) is not determined. |
Production | Dated to the early or mid-18th century by Ray as part of a revival of the technique of applying lustre to a blue ground in Manises at the time. The use of rope-twist handles also points to the Baroque period. |
