Physical description
Enamelled silver matchstand of rectangular form, the surface decorated with strawberry red guilloché enamel surmounted by a finely modelled silver mandrill, the whole poised on four bun feet.
Engraved with the initials of workmasters Anna Ringe and Julius Rappoport. Engraved with inventory number 15245.

Workmasters: Anna Ringe and Julius Rappoport
1899-1909

The American heiress Lady Paget bought this match stand from Fabergé's London shop in December 1016. From her luxurious home at 35 Belgrave Square, Lady Paget led American society in London. She introduced newly arrived heiresses to British society and was the instigator of many marriages.
