First performed in London in 1932, For Services Rendered by Somerset Maugham deals with the aftermath of World War I and its disastrous effects on an English family. The poster design includes a poppy that became the symbol of remembrance of World War I after the poppies that grew on the fields of conflict in France. The photograph of a soldier and his wife could represent the protagonists of the play, Ethel and Howard Bartlett.

This production directed by Deborah Paige transferred to London from a sell-out season at the Salisbury Playhouse. It featured the actors Harriet Bagnall, Sarah Burghard, Kirsty Cubberley, Colin Haigh, Peter Halliday, Moir Lesley, Ann Penfold, Tim Sabel, Jeffrey Segal, Michael Sheldon and Terry Taplin, who are listed on the poster.
