ff. 2r-13v: Calendar with feasts in red including the TRanslation and feast of Hugh (of Loncoln)(6 Oct. and 17 Nov.), king Edmund (20 Nov.) and abbot Bernard (of Clairvaux)(26 Aug.). Ordinary feasts include Wulstan (19 Jan.), Cedd (2 March), king Edward the martyr (18 March), Cuthbert (20 March, Translation 4 Sept.), Guthlac (11 April), John of York (7 May), Dunstan (19 May), Etheldreda (23 June, Translation 17 Oct.), Grimbald (8 July), king Oswald (5 Aug.), Ositha (7 Oct.), Wilfrid (12 Oct.), Fritheswida (19 Oct.), Rumswald (3 Nov.), Willibrord (7 Nov.), Edmund (16 Nov.). Scottish connections are suggested by a major feast for Andrew (31 Nov.) and ordinary feast for his translation (9 May), and an ordinary feast for Kenelm (17 July).
Bruges feasts include Eleutherius (19 April), Alexander (27 Feb.), and Quintin (31 Oct.).

ff. 83v-95v: Commendation of Souls followed by prayers. Miniature on f. 83v: Raising of a soul.

1) Made for an English client ca. 1460-1470 (see saints in Calendar, Suffrages and Litany).
2) Owned by writing master John Scottowe (d.1607), as indicated by various inscriptions.
f. 21r: 'Memorandum. George Goodwin. Memorandum', written in three scripts.
f. 21v: 'By me John Scottowe &c &c', 'George Kinge', 'George Goodwin', in three scripts. He may also have added the aphorism in humanistic script on this page 'Sunt tria que ver faciunt me sepe dolore...'. On Scottowe, see J. Backhouse, John Scottowe's alphabet book, London, Roxburghe Club, 1974.
