Sheila Steafel created the character of Miss Popsy Wopsy for her one-woman music-hall shows. The character - a ditzy, klutzy music hall entertainer - always sang just underneath the note, and danced just behind the beat. She performed the character several times for the BBC TV series The Good Old Days in the 1970s and 1980s. This costume was worn in the series, including Sheila Steafel's final performance on the show in 1983.
