Handscreen of embroidered linen canvas with wools and silks in Berlin wool work. Embroidered in red, yellow and shades of green in cross stitch, and with white and grey glass beads in a rose spray design. It is fringed with transparent glass beads. Backed with red silk. Mounted on a brass cross frame with a porcelain handle. The handscreen is used to protect women's faces from the heat of the fire.
