Object history | Gift from Sir Charles Trevelyan Bart. Condition: ‘Decayed’. R/P: 2227/1881. Received from R. Pinti of 46, Berners Street, but purchased by the Museum using £25 given by Sir Charles Trevelyan Bart. in lieu of objects bequeathed by the late Sir Walter Trevelyan. A file note 25/4/1881 says that the cassone (along with 4 carved fronts of cassoni and carved gothic freize (2 pieces)), was one of a group of 'objects just received from Italy by Mr Pinti.' |
