Raissa Pardini is an Italian-born, UK-based visual artist whose work celebrates bold typography. She studied a BA in Graphic Design & Visual Art at the European Institute of Design (IED), Milan (Italy), and a lettering and print process course with a Master of Arabian calligraphy at Ait Malh, Marrakesh.
Pardini's graphic design has become synonymous with 21st century 'underground' alternative music in the UK, where she has designed dozens of posters and cover art for musicians and bands touring grassroots venues. She works collaboratively with musicians to develop their graphic identity with the purpose of communicating the unique sound of an artist.
Pardini's style is inspired by the ‘golden age’ of typography in the 1970s and 1980s, where the visual emphasis is on the use of fonts. Some of her influences include OZ magazine, artist Keith Haring, and designer Peter Saville. As well as producing artwork in the music industry, she has also worked with The New York Times, MTV, Dr. Martens, Fred Perry and artist Nadia Lee Cohen.
