Premier Amour (First Love) was choreographed by Léonide Massine for Etienne de Beaumont’s Soirée de Paris at the Théâtre de la Cigale and first danced on 14 June 1924. The sets and costumes were by Marie Laurencin and the ‘scène mimèe’ was performed to Erik Satie’s 'Les Morceaux en forme de Poires’. The ballet showed a young girl (Joyce Meyers) playing with her dolls (Lydia Lopokova and Vera Pietro) and puppet (Idzikowski). Gibson MacCormack in the Dancing Times noted that Idzikowski’s role in the mimed playlet was performed ‘with his usual extraordinary skill’. Maurice Boucher in Le Monde described Premier Amour as ‘a ballet scene in which Mme Lopokova and M. Idzikowski are comic and charming’
