Physical description | Silver-gilt chalice on a flat, spreading, circular foot, a chased stem decorated with oak leaves and acorns; the shaped knop with six circular bosses, each decorated with niello lettering, which supports a straight sided tapered bowl. |

Marks and inscriptions | I h E S V S (This inscription appears frequently on the comparatively small group of known Gothic chalices produced in Nuremberg from around 1450 to 1540. Around fifty such chalices were surveyed by Heinrich Kohlhaussen for his volume on medieval Nuremberg silver (see references). Around ten of these have comparable inscriptions on the bosses of the nodus.)
