Dress fabric, silk satin, 5 shaft, brocaded with metal thread.
Displayed behind glass.
Warp: S-twisted purple silk.
Weft: orange silk as the ground weft and gilt metal strip S-wound on a yellow silk core as the brocaded weft.
Selvedge: returned wefts.
There is a loom end patterned with a small chequered design.
Purple ground with a diamond lattice formed by diagonal lines bearing clusters of 5 leaves. A similar cluster is in the middle of each diamond; all in metal thread.
There is a narrow border down the left hand side with a line of small blocks between 2 thicker lines; all in metal thread.
There is a wide decorative border down the right hand side: on the inside is a line of small inward facing botehs, bending to their right, each with a pair of leaves at its base. On the outer edge is a wider band with a sinuous meander of small leaves with 6-petalled flowers and leaves filling the spaces; all in metal thread.
