Physical description | Panel of tapestry weave (kesi) silk with a design of a landscape with birds, willows, water plants and stylised rocks. The entire length of the panel is occupied by a willow tree on which are perched different kinds of birds (including pheasants, ibis a magpie and a kingfisher) with a prunus growing by the side and a bamboo stem on the right. Behind the trees a lake fills the rest of the background. Stylised rocks at the roots of the trees and clouds into which their tops vanish. A water plant is growing on the left of the willow. The colour scheme is mainly restricted to shades of blue and green from celadon to deep blue with the trunks of the trees in a light pale brown. Some of the more important parts of the design such as the trunk of the willow are outlined in black. |

This woven silk picture depicts a riverbank scene with a variety of birds and plants, includin gbamboo, cherry, egret and pheasant. Originally it could have been one of a pair or part of a set.
