The base is flat and the edges form a trapezoid which is composed of both the sides and the rear, shaped in the form of an arc, reducing to a low straight rim along the front. The sides have a slight crest and broad, flared, turned-down edges which form the handles. The rim has a continuous rolled edge.

Part of a tea service which was a prototype for the series of eleven tea and coffee services commissioned from architects by Officina Alessi, a branch of Alessi S.p.A., Milan, and made in a limited edition in silver.
