Cap of quilted woven wool embroidered with silk in French knots, with laid and couched metal thread and metal thread in chain stitch, trimmed with a narrow edging of crochet silk and metal thread, lined with plain weave roller printed and glazed cotton.
The bias-cut ground is a red wool woven with a pattern of offset botehs in two shades of blue, black, white, two shades of green and yellow. This forms the circular band which is joined to a roundel of similar material. The band is decorated with corded quilted in narrow diagonal lines and then with four rows of white silk French knots forming 'pearls', in triangles, zigzags and stylized cypress trees. Each row being delineated by a line of chain stitch with metal thread. The roundel at the top is totally covered with silver metal thread laid and couched to form spirals with a silver-gilt six-pointed star formation of inward pointing stylized cypress trees in groups of ; the latter is couched with yellow silk.
The rim is edged with a crochet braid of black silk with silver thread forming a zigzag pattern with small lozenges.
Metal Thread: [1] silver strip close S-wound on white silk core; [2] silver-gilt strip close S-wound on a deep yellow silk core.

Lining: white ground with a pattern of delicate black/blue stems with buds, blossoms and tiny leaves predominantly in blue and two shades of red.
