This round bronze medal depicts Captain Francis Fowle in profile in high relief. On the reverse it is engraved 'T. Bernard Collinson from H.Y.D. Scott ' within a border of laurel.

Fowke was a British engineer and architect as well as a Captain of the Royal Engineers who built parts of the Victoria and Albert Museum and was responsible for planning the 1862 International Exhibition in London.
