Three-colour-process endpapers of four single-page designs: "Meal", "Oats", "Pot[atoes]" and "Bran". Case binding of maroon cloth over bevelled boards. Upper cover with title blocked in green and gold and with author, small dot (ornament) and publisher (F. Warne & Co.) blocked in green with paper onlay in centre in green-blocked frame. Title blocked in green on spine.

Subsequently published as "The tale of Samuel Whiskers" in 1926. Library's copy A inscribed on upper flyleaf: "Nancy [G-?] from Grandmama / Xmas 1908". Library's copy A in the Linder Collection formerly on long-term loan from the Linder Trust. Given by the Linder Collection in 2020. Originally part of the collection of Leslie Linder.
