The image of a lady feeding peacocks while her maid prepares her bed is associated with the musical mode Madhumadhavi Ragini. The painting is from a large set called a ragamala or 'garland of ragas' painted at Amer (Amber) the capital of the Kachhwaha Rajputs who later founded the city of Jaipur.
