Backless evening dress in bias-cut grey lavender-blue silk taffeta. Princess line and cut on the cross with a slight train. Sleeveless and the neck is low and round dipping to a deep 'V' at the back. With dramatic ruffles made up from a series of quarter-circles massed together round the armholes and extending down the sides of the back opening and cascading down the back of the skirt into a ruffled fishtail train. Fastens at the centre back with snap fasteners and hooks and eyes. Belt with large bow in the front (T.53A-1961).

Backless evening dress in bias-cut grey lavender-blue silk taffeta. Princess line and cut on the cross with a slight train. Sleeveless and the neck is low and round dipping to a deep 'V' at the back.
