Dress of mid-blue silk taffeta in the form of a tunic with a low v-neck. Finished at the back with a gathered chiffon frill and a long-pointed waist over a gathered tunic skirt trimmed with looped silk fringe around the hem in two bands. There is a pleated blue georgette stand-up collar. The under-dress is of white silk with elbow-length blue silk sleeves trimmed with narrower looped silk fringe. The skirt flounce is trimmed like the skirt on the bodice, which in wear would show beneath. A gathered cream net modesty vest trims the bodice. At the natural waist there is a blue satin-backed velvet ribbon sash fastening with hooks and eyes under a large made-up bow in the centre front.
