This is a bronze statuette possibly made by Pierino da Vinci in the second quarter of the 16th century in Italy. The statuette is from an allegorical group of Virtue and Vice. The recumbent contorted figure of Satan is supported on the right arm and updrawn knee and the face is turned upwards. The left hand is below the chin, and the long bony tail is curled round to the front. The wings are in the form of leaves.
