This computer assisted drawing was produced at the Slade School of Fine Art's Experimental and Computing Department, where Boreham studied during the 1970s. He created the artwork using FORTRAN IV, a computer programming language which passed commands to a flatbed plotter equipped with a rotring pen. The program allowed the spacing of lines in each grid to be re-specified, enabling a large number of variations.
