Jōtarō Saitō is one of Japan’s leading kimono designers. His flagship store is located in the Japanese capital but the kimono are made in Kyoto. Saitō initially designed western-style clothing but now concentrates on kimono for both women and men. This garment is designed to be worn by either, but is here styled with a man’s obi and kimono jacket (haori). The latter is reversible, with wool on one side, stencil-dyed silk on the other.
