Natural Movement is a form of dance developed by Madge Atkinson (1885-1970), based on the natural movements of the human body. Atkinson was inspired by the wide interest in free dance in the early 20th century and her works were developed for both theatre and education.

Rectangular mauve and green tunic worn for an unidentified Natural Movement production
Physical description
Long rectangular tunic in a chiffon fabric with striped weave, printed with a pattern of green and white flowers on a purple-mauve ground. Made of two rectangles stitched together at the shoulders and side seams, leaving loose arm-holes. The hem is fringed.
