Carpet end of woven wool.
WARP: light brown wool; Z2S; 24 threads to the inch (86 per dm)
WEFT: red wool; Z spun, unplied; 2 parallel threads to a shoot and 2 shoots after each row of knots; 10 knots to the inch (38 per dm counted at 15 per 4 cms).
PILE: wool; 8 colours: dark red, red, yellow, green, dark blue, light blue, dark brown, white; symmetrical knot tied around 2 threads; 120 knots to the sq. inch (1634 per sq. dm).
SIDE FINISH: both sides cut.
END FINISH: lower end: 1 cm plain weave with red weft; 1 pass of alternating red and blue weft; 4 passes of thick dark purple weft; twisted warp fringe, maximum length is 10 cms.
DESIGN: there are four bands:
1. multi-coloured flowerheads.
2 and 4 : dark blue squares alternating with white and containing dark red, red or yellow flowerheads.
3 as 2 and 4. but green or dark red squares containing red, yellow or blue flowerheads.
