Plain weave cotton embroidered with silk in half cross stitch.
Black ground with a large yellow 8-pointed star which dominates the composition. It has a red quatrefoil centre with stylised branches and plants in red, green and blue emerging from it. From each alternate star point is a stylised yellow tree form with chevron patterned trunk, while a a pair of red, white and green curving leaves come from the other points. From the two lateral leaf pairs, there is an elaborate rectangular composition in yellow. Other angular motifs infill the remaining space. The border on two sides has a beige ground with an angular meander of stylized leaves and buds in associate colouring. All the motifs are outlined in black.
Embroidery threads: 2S silk; black, red, two shades of blue, yellow, green, white, beige.

Group 1 textiles are characterised by cross stitch in dark colours; however this embroidery is worked in half cross stitch.
