Stephen Sondheim and George Furth’s 1970 musical Company was revived in London's West End in 2018. It was directed by Marianne Elliott of Elliott & Harper Productions and ran from 17 October 2018 to 30 March 2019 at the Gielgud Theatre.

Company explores themes of love, marriage and relationships. At her 35th birthday party, Bobbie is surrounded by her friends (‘company’), five couples who wonder why Bobbie isn’t married yet. Elliott’s production changed the gender of a number of the characters: Bobbie was Robert in the original script, Bobbie's three boyfriends were originally female, and her friends, same-sex couple Jamie and Paul, were first written as Amy and Paul. Sondheim approved the changes and worked on revisions of the text, renaming Bobbie's boyfriends, Andy, PJ and Theo. Rosalie Craig played Bobbie, with Patti LuPone as Joanne, Mel Giedroyc as Sarah, Jonathan Bailey as Jamie and Richard Fleeshman as Andy. The production was designed by Bunny Christie, choreographed by Liam Steel and conducted by Joel Fram.

Company received two Evening Standard Awards, two Critics' Circle Theatre Awards and four Olivier Awards. Rosalie Craig and Marianne Elliott won Evening Standard Awards for Best Musical Performance and Best Director. Bunny Christie was the Critics' Circle choice for Best Designer and she also received the Olivier Award for Best Set Design.

Costume for Bobbie in Company
2018
Bunny Christie is celebrated for her striking and psychologically nuanced designs. Rather than situating Company’s set across different New York locations, Christie located the action within Bobbie’s head, as if the character was conjuring different conversations and scenarios. This surreal ‘Alice in Wonderland’ world sees Bobbie facing an eternal birthday cake and expanding balloons as she faces her 35th birthday.
