Gallery label	(2019) Like Dodgson, Lear wrote A Book of Nonsense for the enjoyment of real children – the family of his patron, Lord Stanley. A collection of limericks, the book does not contain moral instructions but instead actually makes fun of adults at their own expense. Lear’s book helped make non-moralistic nonsense acceptable for children – something Dodgson went on to explore in his own works. [Label for Alice: Curiouser and Curiouser]
