Photograph Album

ca. 1870s (made)
Place of origin

This is a page in a photograph album. Four black and white albumen photographs in oval shapes have been pasted onto the page. The top image shows a seated young man with short hair and a beard. The image on the right is a portrait of a young woman seated and looking off to the left, so her face is in profile. The image at the bottom is a portrait of a young child, just their face is visible against the white background as the image is vignetted to draw attention to the child’s face. The image to the right is an upper body portrait of a seated man with a moustache and full beard. A hand-painted watercolour surround of colour flowers and leaves has been added around and between the photographs as though linking them together.
