Scroll, inscribed with the text of a proclamation, used in the musical entertainment Oh What a Lovely War, written by Charles Chilton and members of the cast from memoirs and personal recollections of World War I. The play was performed by the Theatre Workshop at the Theatre Royal, Stratford East, in 1963 and then taken on tour. The production was directed by Joan Littlewood.

The whole text written in faint blue ink capital letters, with the final sentences overwritten in heavy blue ink. The text is in the form of a proclamation issued by Reichskanzler Bethman Hollweg..
