Brixton pound note (£5 denomination) depicting Luol Deng (born 1985), a professional basketball player for the GB national team and the NBA Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat. Born in South Sudan, Deng emigrated as a child with his family to Brixton where he joined England's under-15 basketball team at Brixton Basketball Club. The reverse of the note is inspired by the Evelyn Grace Academy and features the logo for the Brixton Recreation Centre on Brixton Station Road.

In addition to a local hero, all of the notes feature a design inspired by the Coldharbour Lane Barrier Block and other Brixton locations. They each have a unique serial number from their limited print run. The 5 year commemorative packs of the Brixton pound notes were launched in Windrush Square on Wednesday 8 July 2015, Brixton.
