Man's waistcoat of cream cotton, figured with herring-bone and satin stripes, backed and lined with fustian. It has a 2-inch (5 cm) standing collar, revers, welted pockets, straight fronts and hem, reaching to the hip. The waistcoat is embroidered with brown silk floss and tamboured with silver-gilt filé in a pattern of abstract stems and leaves on the collar, revers, front edges, pocket welts and along the hem. It fastens with 10 embroidered buttons along the right front and 10 worked buttonholes on the left.
