Jug of cream coloured earthenware transfer-printed with enamels and painted with enamels and pink lustre. Bulbous body with a short cylindrical neck with a projecting lip, and loop handle. On the front are verses entitled 'Forget me not'. On one side is a print of a man o' war, the 'Northumberland 74', and on the other 'A South East View of the Iron Bridge over the Wear near Sunderland Foundation Stone laid by R. Burdon Esqr Sepr 24 1793 opened Augt 9 1796'. Beneath the view are inscribed 'Cast Iron 214 tons Wrought do. 46' and 'Height 100 feet, Span 236'.
