This photographs shows a view of the Golden Temple seen from the west. Several buildings are visible in the background including the two minarets of the Ramgarhia Bunga. The scene is reflected in the water of the tank emphasising the symmetry and balance of the composition.

Marks and inscriptions
Visible on the lower right of the print: "40". The view appears to have been cropped and it is likely that the photograph corresponds to the negative number 407 assigned by Bourne & Shepherd. A similar photograph in the collection of the J. Paul Getty Museum has the number 407 inscribed in the negative.
