Louise Gray is an independent Scottish designer. Trained at Glasgow School of Art and Central Saint Martins, she is known for her colourful, bold-patterned fabrics, and her designs experiment heavily with combinations of textures. The ensemble is taken from her Autumn/Winter collection UP YOUR LOOK, presented at the 2011 London Fashion Week.
The collection was inspired by the 1990s London club scene and incorporated a wide mixture of stripes, checks and spots. The ensemble comprises a cotton printed shirt, external spotted and padded bra, fringed wool skort (skirt with shorts), boots and duck whistle earrings. The earrings, worn on the catwalk, are a prototype of a jewellery collaboration between Gray and ASOS.com. The plastic prototypes were used in the catwalk presentation as they were lighter than the final metal version. The boots were the results of a collaboration between Gray and footwear company Pollini and are made from printed patent PVC.

| Physical description | Ensemble comrpised of a printed purple cotton bi-patterned shirt (motifs on the left are different than on the right side) and a “skort”, a pair of checkered pattern shorts with a wool fringed panel on the front resembling a skirt. This is paired with a padded external blue and yellow bra with gold foil spots and black parachute inspired straps. The ensemble was designed with a pair of high-heeled boots with bi-face motifs in leather patent PVC, one side is gold and the other is pink with black spots, the heals are yellow. They're accompanied by a pair of golden whistle-like earrings. |
