Barrel in 'Pearlware' lead-glazed earthenware painted in high temperature underglaze colours ('Pratt-ware'). Round the middle is a wavy stem with flowers between hoops painted in blue and brown. One end is painted with a floral spray. On one end is an inscription incised and coloured brown 'Marther / Wilkinson / Bristol / Pottery / 1818'.
