Mug of cream coloured lead-glazed earthenware transfer-printed with black enamel. Cylindrical in shape with a loop handle. With 'An East View of the iron Bridge over the Wear near Sunderland. Foundation stone laid by R. Burdon MP sept. 24th 93 height 100 feet span 236'. Further inscribed with 'Cast Iron 214 Tons, Wrought do 46 Tons, Nil Desperandum Auspice Deo', and signed. Below the view are festoons of foliage.
