Beer-jug of cream-coloured lead-glaze earthenware transfer-printed and over-painted with black enamel. Barrel-shaped body with a projecting lip and loop handle. Below the 'Arms' is a bouquet, and on the other side of the jug is a landscape with figures. On one side is an engraving known as 'THE BLACKSMITH'S ARMS' with the motto 'BY HAMMER AND HAND ALL ARTS DO STAND'. On the front are painted the initials 'A. H.' within a printed wreath of flowers and barley, with barrels below and a calendar above.
